During the pandemic, the cancellation of Carnivals worldwide left many feeling disappointed, sparking online conversations about the deep cultural significance of Carnival for Caribbean people and the diaspora. Recognizing this moment, we launched a 6-part podcast series to explore and celebrate the essence of Carnival. As the producer, I not only edited the audio and video for the series but also conceptualized the episode topics in collaboration with the hosts (@globalcarnivalist and @yorietaylor).

EVENT I MANAGED
I’ve managed hundreds of events over a 16 year span (I hosted my first party at 16 years old and never looked back) and one event that I was extremely honoured to organize was “Ham & Jam”, a Christmas themed party and the official celebration party for DJ Puffy winning the Red Bull 3Style competition in 2016.
This event is special to me because the entire country of Barbados was intune to the 3Style competition and elated when DJ Puffy won the competition. Interest in the event skyrocketed after DJ Puffy’s victory and our team was able to accommodate the increased number of patrons by working carefully with the venue, sponsors and DJ Puffy’s management team.
In the end we successfully hosted 600+ revellers at a beach party that can only be described as magical. Project management for this event included marketing (social media, radio, email, posters), media (photography, videography), budget management, securing sponsorship from major brands, stage management, security and other staff, setting up the venue, etc.
All of our stakeholders (patrons, DJ Puffy and his management team, sponsors) were thrilled.
